Wappinshaw 2013 Travel Information

How to get to Wappinshaw 2013

Our new venue, the Kelvin Hall, is located in Glasgow's West End, about 2 miles from the city centre. There are a number of convenient ways to get to the Kelvin Hall.

By bus - Buses 9, 16, 18, 62 and 64 pass the Kelvin Hall.

By underground - Glasgow's circular underground system has a station for Kelvin Hall. Trains are every 4-8 minutes on Saturdays. Turn right when you exit the station and walk towards Dumbarton Road. Then turn left and the Kelvin Hall is a 5 minute walk along Dumbarton Road, across the junction at the foot of Byres Road and on along Argyle Street.

By train - Partick Station is a 10-minute walk from the Kelvin Hall. Trains from Glasgow Central or Glasgow Queen Street take 6-7 minutes. Exit the station and walk up to Dumbarton Road, then turn right. Walk along Dumbarton Road, across the junction at the foot of Byres Road and on along Argyle Street.

By car  - Westbound: follow the Clydeside Expressway for approximately half a mile. Exit at the junction for Finnieston. Turn right onto Finnieston Street and follow this road until the next junction. Turn left into Argyle Street. The Kelvin Hall is approximately one mile along Argyle Street on the left hand side. From North and South follow the main routes to Glasgow and on meeting the M8 follow the signs for "Glasgow City Centre".

If you are using Sat Nav the postcode is G3 8AW.

Parking - There is free parking in the streets around the Kelvin Hall, plus a 500 space metered car park in Bunhouse Road, immediately adjacent to the Kelvin Hall.

Don't you mean turn left? The station's on the north side of Dumbarton road.

    1. When you leave the station you come out into a close or pend (take your pick)and IIRC you need to turn right and walk down the pend to get onto Dumbarton Road itself, where you do indeed turn left. Maybe I'm trying to convey too much information, as it is pretty obvious when you are actually there. I'm not intentionally trying to confuse things, honestly. :-)
